Hi RD39 Members,

LET’S GET MOVING IN MARCH!

I’m giving away $100 to the team member who gets in the most steps in the month of March from March 1st to 31st. Participation is completely optional especially since you’ll need a tracking device if you don’t have one already.

Keeping it simple:
1) You’ll have to have a way to track your steps to prove how many you got.
2) The person with the most steps in the 31 days of March gets the $100.

Some tracking devices to consider are Fitbit, an Apple Watch, Garmin and even low priced ( under $50 ) watches on Amazon. If you don’t own something already, I recommend looking into Garmin watches. Ben has the Vivoactive 5. Garmin watches start at about $150. But if budget is a concern, visit Amazon for under $50 options. Again, participation is optional, but you’ll have to have a way to track and prove your steps.

I’m “not” competing since I’m giving away the $100. But there will be a $50 BONUS add on if anyone beats me for the month of March. My record is 56K+ in one day.

Getting Your Steps In:

…Park at the end of the Wal-Mart, Grocery Store, etc. parking lot when you go shopping. Bottom line, find more ways to increase your steps during your day.

…Joyner Park in Wake Forest is a great place to walk outside. There is also an upstairs track inside the community center. It’s FREE for Wake Forest residents. It’s $25 for an individual or $50 for a family for the YEAR for non-residents. They are open from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday-Friday with reduced hours on Saturday and Sunday ( March Sunday Hours Start ).
…Hit the treadmill if you have access to one. Find ways to get those steps in.

If you are intentionally blocking time to walk for added steps: A mile is about 2,000 steps. A decent walking pace is about 20 minutes for 1 mile. So to get 5,000 steps in, you’ll need to walk for about 50 minutes.

LET’S DO THIS!
